Kim manages our Wendell location and handles the finances for both clinics. When she’s not working, she loves to spend time with her three beautiful children.
Casey is a recent graduate of East Carolina University where he obtained his B.S. in Kinesiology. He attended high school in Stafford, Virginia, and competed in football, basketball, and baseball. Excelling in baseball, Casey continued his playing career at Gardner-Webb University, Lenoir Community College, and finally ECU. While at ECU, he utilized his passion for sport performance and injury prevention/rehabilitation at a sport and physical therapy clinic there in Greenville.
Casey intends to pursue his doctorate in physical therapy where he would like to specialize in sports related injuries and continue with sport performance training. He is currently a CSCS and determined to continue his education through several other certifications, to serve as a better coach and educator. In his spare time, Casey enjoys participating in anything outdoors, from hunting and fishing to biking and hiking.
Dr. Adam Beck
Dr. Adam Beck was born and raised in upstate New York where he graduated top of his class, was a member of National Honor Society and captain of the football, basketball, and baseball teams. Dr. Beck then attended SUNY Brockport while playing baseball and majoring in athletic training. As an athletic training intern he spent three years working with the college’s athletic teams focusing on injury prevention and rehabilitation.
Katie grew up in Knightdale, NC and graduated from East Wake High School in 2010. She started taking pitching lessons when she was 11 years old from Kim Vardy and continued throughout her college career. Katie pitched at UNC Charlotte from 2010-2013 and later finished her Bachelors Degree at East Carolina University. She began coaching and giving pitching lessons throughout her summers when she was home from school, and transitioned into year-round coaching when she moved back to Knightdale in May of 2013. Softball has been the most rewarding part of Katie’s life, from playing for the Triangle Lightning Fast-Pitch Organization to pitching at the Division 1 level.
Katie loves giving back to the game that she loves and working with Kim, who has taught her the essential fundamentals and work ethic that is needed to pitch at the college level. Katie is currently employed full time at Resources for Seniors, Inc and coaches part time for The Athletic Zone.
Darby is a native to Raleigh, NC. She began playing tee-ball at the age of 4 and grew up playing travel ball, as well as school ball including playing in college. Through high school and college, Darby began assisting Kim Vardy with pitching clinics for softball teams of all ages. She has been coaching girls from ages 8-18 through private lessons for Kim Vardy Pitching for about 6 years. Although she no longer plays, she enjoys being able to give back to younger girls by sharing her knowledge and skills of how to pitch.
Andrew was born and raised in Greenville, NC where he played high school baseball at South Central High School. Andrew played middle infield for the East Carolina Club Baseball program through his sophomore year where after he started his pitching career. As a pitching instructor for The Athletic Zone, he focuses on proper throwing mechanics and aims to build fundamentally sound pitchers.
Nathan Margets, 24, former coach and current sports performance trainer for the Carolina Eagles Hockey organization. With over 15 years of playing experience, he has developed the proper skills and methods of instruction to ultimately build the foundation for an efficient sport-specific training program. As an athletic professional of four years, he has a proven track record in:
